The Wheels and Water Show

CaliopeMany years ago a friend of ours visited us with his little Steamboat. We enjoyed having it on Brandy Pond and connected it to our Town History of the Cumberland and Oxford canal. That started it all over 12 years ago.

We invited the Steamboat Club to spend the weekend and tour the lakes. They came and had a wonderful time. The weekend became an annual event, and slowly other types of transportation joined us; Antique Cars and trucks, stationary engines, tractors and snowmobiles.

Now, in 2001 we are one of the largest gatherings of this kind on the East Coast. No where is there a gathering of boats and wheeled vehicles in the same place.

The Naples Historical Society is proud to sponsor this kind of event as a learning experience for children and a walk down memory lane for a lot of Dads. Speaking of Dads, we hold this event on Fathers Day weekend just for Dads.Trailer

The format for this show is very informal and friendly.  We try to introduce people who would not normally get together to share their love of old vehicles with one another.
Early comers are treated to a Potluck supper on Friday night. The lions Club provides a delicious Chicken B-B-Q on Saturday night for a reasonable price and provides food through out the weekend in their food shack.

Sunday morning we tour to the Legion Hall in town for a wonderful buffet breakfast. Everyone loves the chance to parade through town and there is always a ride in an antique vehicle for folks without other transportation.

The site of this event is on 10 acres of waterfront on Brandy Pond, a connecting lake to Sebago.Airstream

We welcome anyone with an antique anything to do with transportation, or just an interest!  Camping is allowed, however we have no amenities, but there is water and a porta-potty available.

The Naples Historical Society is supported by the proceeds from this event and a fee of $10.00 is charged to all exhibitors. That’s for the entire weekend.

We hope you can come either as an exhibitor or as an interested observer.
